Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern orders placed with Halt Registry and the use of its domain registration, hosting, VPS, dedicated server, email, and related services through haltregistry.com and its customer portal.
  1. Agreement and Service Scope

Please read these Terms before ordering. When you accept these Terms during checkout or through an agreed order process, they form part of your agreement with us.

Your order confirmation, selected plan, and any service-specific conditions clearly provided before purchase describe what you are buying. A specific written agreement between you and Halt Registry takes priority over these general Terms where it expressly provides otherwise. Mandatory legal rights are not affected.

  1. Eligibility and Account Responsibilities

You must have legal capacity to enter into this agreement. If ordering for a business or another person, you must be authorised to act for them.

Provide accurate contact, billing, and registration information, and keep it current. Keep passwords and access credentials secure, grant access only to authorised users, and tell us promptly if you suspect misuse or unauthorised access.

You are responsible for the instructions you and your authorised users give us. This does not remove our responsibility for failures attributable to us.

  1. Orders and Service Activation

Service features, resource limits, billing periods, and charges are those stated in the accepted order. Activation may depend on payment confirmation, accurate information, and any required domain or identity verification.

We will communicate material activation delays. If we cannot accept or fulfil an order, we will explain the issue and refund payment for services we cannot supply, unless you agree to an alternative. The 24-hour refund window does not remove this obligation.

  1. Prices, Payments, and Renewals

Pay invoices by their stated due dates. The currency, billing cycle, applicable taxes, and any additional charges must be disclosed before payment.

Recurring services renew according to the schedule and renewal arrangements accepted when ordering. Automatic payment applies only where authorised. You can manage renewal preferences through the available account controls or contact support before the renewal date.

Changes to renewal prices will be communicated before they take effect, with a reasonable opportunity to cancel the renewal. We will not retrospectively increase the agreed price for an already-paid service period.

Failure to pay an overdue invoice may result in suspension after notice and a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue, subject to applicable law.

  1. Refund and Cancellation Policy

Refund requests must be submitted within 24 hours of successful payment for the relevant order or renewal.

NO REFUNDS ARE AVAILABLE FOR REQUESTS SUBMITTED MORE THAN 24 HOURS AFTER PAYMENT, EXCEPT WHERE REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW.

To request a refund, use our contact form or submit a support ticket through the customer portal. Include your registered email address, order or invoice number, transaction reference, and the reason for your request. Do not send passwords or full payment card details.

The time you submit the request determines whether it falls within the 24-hour window. A later response from our team does not make a timely request ineligible. Requests submitted within the window will be reviewed against the terms disclosed before payment.

Approved refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method, unless another method is agreed or required. Payment provider processing times may vary; any legally required refund deadline takes priority.

You may request cancellation through the customer portal or by contacting support. Tell us whether you want the service to end immediately or at the end of the paid period. Cancelling renewal does not by itself cancel the current service period.

Cancellation, non-use, or a change of mind after the refund window does not create a contractual right to a refund for an unused period. This does not restrict rights relating to non-delivery, defective services, billing errors, mandatory cancellation periods, or other remedies required by law.

The 24-hour rule applies to purchases and renewals accepted under these Terms after their effective date. Earlier transactions remain subject to the terms and any guarantees applicable when they were made.

  1. Domain Registration, Renewal, and Transfer

Check the spelling, extension, registrant details, and eligibility requirements before submitting a domain order. A search result does not reserve a domain; registration is confirmed only when the relevant registrar or registry accepts it.

Domain services are also subject to the applicable registrar, registry, and, where relevant, ICANN requirements. Applicable registration agreements and material restrictions must be made available before purchase. Some restricted extensions require supporting documentation or eligibility checks.

Keep registration and payment information current and arrange renewal before expiry. Expiry may interrupt websites and email and may ultimately result in loss of the domain. Restoration availability and charges depend on the relevant domain rules and must be disclosed where applicable.

Transfers may depend on authorisation, verification, transfer locks, and registry procedures.

  1. Acceptable Use and Resource Limits

Use our services lawfully and within the limits of your selected plan. You must not use them to:

– Distribute malware, conduct phishing, commit fraud, or obtain unauthorised access to systems.

– Send unlawful unsolicited messages or operate abusive email campaigns.

– Host or distribute unlawful content or infringe intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

– Launch attacks, interfere with other users, or deliberately disrupt networks or services.

– Circumvent security controls or knowingly exceed disclosed resource limits in a way that harms service stability.

If resource use requires a different plan, we will explain the relevant limit and available options. Any additional charges or upgrades require agreement.

  1. Customer Content and Reseller Accounts

You retain ownership of content you provide. You must have the rights and permissions needed for us to host, store, transmit, back up, or otherwise process it to deliver the purchased service.

You grant us the limited permission needed to perform those activities. This does not give us ownership of your content or permission to use it for unrelated marketing.

If you resell our services, you are responsible for managing your customer relationships and ensuring authorised users comply with the applicable service conditions. Your obligations do not remove ours under this agreement or applicable law.

  1. Security, Backups, and Migration

Keep customer-managed software, plugins, applications, and credentials secure and up to date. Maintain independent backups appropriate to your needs.

Any included backup service, retention period, restoration service, or migration work is governed by the purchased plan or a written scope. A backup feature should not be treated as an unlimited archive.

Provide authorised access for migration and check the migrated website, email, and data before closing the previous service. Keep an independent copy before requesting cancellation. These responsibilities do not excuse us from delivering promised backup or migration services with reasonable care.

  1. Service Availability and Support

We will provide services with reasonable care and skill. Maintenance, network incidents, security events, and third-party dependencies may affect availability.

Any specific uptime commitment, support response commitment, or service credit arrangement is governed by the applicable service agreement. These Terms do not create a new uptime percentage or remove a guarantee included in your purchase.

We will give reasonable notice of planned disruption where practicable. Emergency work may require immediate action.

  1. Suspension and Termination

We may restrict or suspend affected services where reasonably necessary to address serious misuse, security threats, legal requirements, or an unresolved material breach of these Terms.

Where practicable, we will explain the issue and allow a reasonable opportunity to correct it before taking action. Immediate restriction may be necessary to prevent harm or comply with law.

If a breach cannot be resolved or is sufficiently serious, the affected service may be terminated. Any financial consequences must comply with this agreement and applicable law; suspension does not automatically remove a valid refund or other legal claim.

Before a planned closure, we will explain available data export arrangements and applicable deletion or retention terms. Access may end when the service terminates, so arrange exports in advance.

  1. Intellectual Property and Third-Party Services

Halt Registry website materials, branding, and service tools belong to their respective owners. You may use them only as permitted to access the services or with the owner’s authorisation.

Third-party products may have additional licence or service terms, which must be disclosed where applicable. Their involvement does not remove obligations we owe you for services sold by us.

  1. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information relating to enquiries, accounts, billing, and service use. Customer-hosted personal data may also require a separate data processing agreement.

Accepting these Terms is not blanket consent to optional marketing or optional cookies.

  1. Responsibility and Legal Rights

Each party is responsible for its own breach of this agreement to the extent required by applicable law. We are not responsible for losses caused solely by your unlawful use or unauthorised instructions, except where the law provides otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Consumer protections and statutory remedies remain available where applicable.

  1. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes in our services, operations, or legal requirements. Updated Terms will show a revised effective date and ordinarily apply to new purchases or renewals made under them.

We will not use an update to remove rights or guarantees attached to an earlier transaction. Material changes affecting an ongoing agreement will be notified in advance and handled with any notice, consent, or cancellation rights required by law.

  1. Disputes and General Provisions

Please contact us with complaints so we can investigate and seek a reasonable resolution. This does not prevent you from contacting a regulator, using an available payment dispute process, or bringing a lawful claim.

Applicable law determines your rights and the courts with jurisdiction unless a valid written agreement provides otherwise. No provision removes mandatory protections available to you.

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining Terms continue to apply where legally possible. A delay in enforcing a right does not automatically waive it.
